The number of established civil servants who were serving in my Department at 15 June, 1987 was 666.
It is assumed, in asking the number at each Civil Service promotional rank, that the Deputy is asking for a breakdown by grade of the number of established staff serving in my Department. A breakdown is given on the attached Table which I will be giving to the Deputy.
Of the 666 established officers who were serving in my Department on 15 June, 1987, 292 were previously attached to the Department of the Public Service.
Regarding plans for the redeployment of officers in my Department to other Departments, I have stated before that all public servants are subject to redeployment where the need arises for such action.
