Vol. 373 No. 9

Written Answers. - State Premises.

44.

asked the Minister for Finance (a) the addresses of all office premises either (i) owned or (ii) rented by the State in Ballina, County Mayo, and in Counties Cavan, Galway and Sligo which are vacant; (b) the total floor area in each premises currently unused and the address of same; and (c) where such premises are leased, the date of such leasing and the annual rental sums payable in respect of each and whether any additional office space will be built or rented by the State in this financial year, in any of the aforementioned locations.

The answer to parts (a), (b) and (c) of the question with the exception of the information on the annual rentals payable is in the form of a tabular statement which I propose to circulate in the Official Report. It is not the practice to disclose the amount of commercial rents payable in respect of individual properties.

Apart from the Government's directive on decentralisation where details have yet to be finalised, the Commissioners of Public Works do not have any proposals to build or rent office space in any of the locations mentioned in the current financial year.
