Vol. 373 No. 12

Written Answers. - Division of Estates.

59.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food in respect of estates in south County Tipperary formerly acquired by the Land Commission (a) the name, location and size of each estate; and (b) the date by which each estate is to be allocated.

The information requested is set out for County Tipperary.

Every effort is being made to dispose of these lands as quickly as possible but having regard to the limited field staff now available for all land settlement work, I cannot indicate when this will be done.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the number of estates and the size of same owned by the Irish Land Commission in each county; the plans, if any, he has for the allotment of those lands; the date of allotment; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The area of agricultural land at present held by the Land Commission is about 6,000 hectares spread over 500 properties.

The permanent disposal of these lands will be undertaken as soon as possible having regard to the limited field staff available for land settlement work.

The provision of the detailed information sought in respect of the entire country would make severe demands on staff resources. If, however, more limited information for example for a particular county is required it can be provided.
