Vol. 373 No. 12

Written Answers. - Doonbeg (Clare) Harbour.

91.

asked the Minister for the Marine when construction work will commence on the medium all-weather harbour at Doonbeg, County Clare; the date on which he envisages the said works will be completed; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Before a detailed scheme can be prepared for Doonbeg it will first be necessary to carry out site and oceanographic surveys.

My Department is arranging to have those surveys carried out. Any programme for Doonbeg will be subject to an economic appraisal and will be formulated and scheduled in the light of the results of the surveys and of available resources.
