asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will arrange immediate payment of a farm modernisation grant to a person (details supplied) in County Clare; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It is a requirement for the payment of grants to development farmers under the farm modernisation scheme that an extract of farm accounts is submitted for each year of the farm development plan.

As the applicant in this case is a development farmer, the grant cannot be paid until the account extracts for the years ended 31 March 1983 to 31 March 1986 inclusive have been supplied to the local ACOT office.
