asked the Minister for Energy if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the Joint Committee on State-Sponsored Bodies recommend that Bord Gáis Éireann should lay its report before the Dáil as soon as possible and not later than six months after the end of the financial year; and as the company has not done so, if he will indicate the action, if any, he intends to take.

I am aware of the recommendation of the Joint Committee on State-sponsored Bodies. I am at present considering a draft of BGE's report and accounts for 1986. Submission to the Government and the Oireachtas is likely to take place in the near future.
