asked the Minister for the Environment the plans, if any, he has for lorry parks in Dublin and elsewhere by legislation or otherwise.
Written Answers. - Lorry Parks.

I have no plans at present for State involvement in the provisions of lorry parks, whether through legislation or otherwise.
I might add that in the case of the Dublin area, the Dublin Transport Authority are at present considering the introduction of special measures to control the parking of large vehicles in Dublin city and county. Any consequential demand for "lorry parks" should be met by the private sector. Local authorities have power under the Road Traffic Acts to assist private enterprise in such ventures.
