Vol. 374 No. 1

Written Answers. - Inner City Development.

209.

asked the Minister for the Environment the number of applications made by individual projects for development in the designated areas of the inner cities of Dublin, Limerick, Cork and Waterford; in each case, the nature of the project; the scale of its development and its likely commencement on site; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The information being sought by the Deputy is primarily a matter between the individual developers and the local authorities concerned. I am responsible for the policy underlying the urban renewal initiative but I have no function in relation to individual projects. My Department has, however, been keeping in touch with the progress being achieved and I am willing to let the Deputy have details of the projects that have commenced or are expected to commence shortly. I will communicate with the Deputy in the next few days.
