Vol. 374 No. 1

Copyright (Amendment) Bill, 1984: Restoration to Order Paper.

I move:

That, in pursuance of Standing Order No. 109 of the Standing Orders relative to Public Business, the Copyright (Amendment) Bill, 1984, in respect of which amendments made by the Seanad were being considered in Committee prior to the dissolution of the Dáil on 21 January, 1987 be restored to the Order Paper.

Is this the Bill which related to the proposed change in the law to facilitate the proposed Hyster factory in Limerick which the Government decided not to proceed with after the IDA had negotiated an agreement with Hyster? Is the move to restore the Bill an indication that the factory is under reconsideration?

This was the intention behind one of the sections in the Bill but the factory lost by the former Government was subsequently set up on the Continent and the reintroduction of this Bill does not have any relevance to setting up that project in Limerick. The Bill also deals with copyrights in relation to videos.

Question put and agreed to.
