Vol. 374 No. 1

Written Answers. - Export Licences.

15.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether his attention has been drawn to the fact that the enforcement of regulations in relation to export licences is causing considerable problems for exporters because of the backlog in dealing with applications; if he will take immediate steps to ensure that this obstacle to our export trade is removed; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Special administrative measures have been taken to remedy a backlog in the processing of applications for export licences. Licences are at present being issued within one week of application which is reasonable. If the Deputy has particulars of any application outstanding for longer than that period I will be glad to investigate the situation on receipt of details.
