asked the Minister for Justice if he will indicate the progress, if any, made since his reply to a parliamentary question on 7 April 1987 in ensuring that all State bodies under his aegis comply with the new requirements in regard to their annual reports under each major heading of the new requirements.

An examination of the format of the annual report and accounts of the Legal Aid Board, which is a non-commercial State body, has revealed that it complies in many respects with the new requirements referred to. However consultations have been necessary in relation to certain aspects of the new requirements which may cause difficulties for the board, and these consultations have not concluded yet.
