The application relates to both the £2,000 grant and the £2,250 builders grant. An inspection, with a view to payment of the £2,000 grant will be carried out as soon as possible. There has been no undue delay. The application relates to both the £2,000 grant and £2,250 builder's grant. The £2,000 grant will be paid as soon as possible. Payment of the £2,250 grant will be made to the builder of the house in two equal instalments in due course.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a person (details supplied) in County Waterford has not received payment of a new house grant despite the fact that all requested information has been submitted on at least two occasions.

A recent inspection revealed that the house in question was not occupied. A further inspection, with a view to payment of the grant, will be arranged when the applicant notifies my Department that he is in occupation of the house as his normal place of residence.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the fact that it has taken the payment section of his Department from ten to 12 weeks to issue a mortgage subsidy cheque to persons (details supplied) in County Cavan.

The third instalment (£600) of the mortgage subsidy has been paid. The volume of grant payments being made — nearly 7,500 grants and mortgage subsidy payments were issued in September — make it inevitable that delays beyond the normal may from time to time arise in individual cases. Every effort is made to keep such occurrences to the absolute minimum.

85.

The claim form for the first instalment of the mortgage subsidy was received on 13 October 1987. It will be paid as soon as possible.
