Vol. 374 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

48.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a farm improvement programme grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A claim for grant payment has been received and will be paid as soon as practicable. All claims are dealt with strictly in order of receipt and due to existing budgetary restraints there may be some delay in making grant payments.

49.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a ewe premium subsidy payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The person named does not qualify for a ewe premium grant because the number of ewes on his application was not maintained for 100 days as required in the terms and conditions of the scheme. In fact, only 53 out of 100 ewes applied for were present at the time of inspection during the 100 day period.
