Vol. 374 No. 5

Written Answers. - State Board Members' Remuneration.

97.

asked the Minister for Labour the level of remuneration of the non-executive directors of boards, companies or agencies under his control which was first set; when these levels were set; if they have ever been revised in line with inflation or with the level of remunerations of non-executive directors of private sector entities of similar size and responsibilities.

The level of remuneration of the non-executive directors of the boards, companies and agencies under my control are:

Youth Employment Agency, £800;

Ostlanna Iompair Éireann Teo, £800.

There is no remuneration payable to non-executive directors of the Employment Equality Agency, An Chomhairle Oiliúna and CERT Limited.

The YEA fee level of £800 was set in 1982 when the agency was established. The OIE fee level was set in 1984 after the transfer of OIE under the aegis of my Department. However the 1984 fee level was not applied to OIE non-executive directors until 1985. Neither fee has been revised since.
