The possibility and appropriateness in the Irish context of licensing Multipoint Microwave Distribution Systems (MMDS) to provide an increased choice of television viewing to areas not already served or unlikely to be served by cable has been under examination in my Department.
I am currently studying the outcome of my Department's examination and I expect to come to a decision in the matter shortly.
