Vol. 374 No. 8

Written Answers. - Employment Contributions.

48.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reason there are no recorded contributions for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford for the period of his employment in a cooperative.

The person concerned was recently admitted as a voluntary contributor under the Social Welfare Acts. While dealing with his application for this, it was discovered that no contributions had been recorded on his record for the 1979/80 contribution year (6 April 1979 to 5 April 1980). He was informed of the position and requested to forward details of his employment in that year so that any necessary adjustment could be made.

In the meantime, the Collector General's Office of the Revenue Commissioners have confirmed that the relevant details for that year had been received by them but had not been transferred to the Department of Social Welfare because of an administrative error. The 1979-80 insurance record has now been amended and the full details in respect of his employment with the cooperative are now held in the Department.
