I appreciate the anxiety and concern experienced by youth and sports organisations at the absence of an allocation of funds for youth and sport services in the 1988 Book of Estimates. I wish to confirm, however, that it is the intention of the Government that the voluntary youth and sport services will be funded next year from the surplus proceeds of the national lottery. I hope to be in a position to give the exact details of this funding shortly.
