Vol. 374 No. 9

Written Answers. - Top Level Appointments Committee.

76.

asked the Minister for Finance if the Government have made any changes in the method of operation of the Top Level Appointments Committee.

The Government have made one change in the method of operation of the Top Level Appointments Committee. In the case of an appointment to a post of Secretary of a Department, the committee, having followed its usual procedures, puts before the Government the names of three persons who the committee consider are fully qualified to fill the post. Previously it was the practice to put forward only one name.
