The position is that the continued employment of a temporary teacher may not be authorised, should the post of the teacher on a career break not be continued after 31 December 1987. In that event the appropriate staff for the 98 pupils in the school will be three teachers, which represents an average pupil-teacher ratio of 32.6:1.
