Vol. 375 No. 1

Written Answers. - Investigation of Radio Report.

34.

asked the Minister for Justice the measures, if any, he is taking to investigate the circumstances in which a girl referred to on a Radio Éireann programme on 21 October was paid £6,000 to become pregnant and encouraged to move to England where she had her baby, which was illegally adopted; if this is an isolated case; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the information which is available to them, in relation to what is alleged to have occurred in the case referred to, provides no indication that any crime or offence was committed within this jurisdiction.
