Vol. 375 No. 1

Written Answers. - Fine-on-the-Spot Notice.

87.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will investigate an incident concerning the placing of a parking ticket for failing to display tax and insurance certificates on a car owned by a person (details supplied) in Dublin 9 when, in fact, the car owner had such tax and insurance and had local members of the Garda Síochána verify this fact; if he will obtain an explanation for this occurrence and if he will ensure that an appropriate apology is sent to the person in question.

Complaints arising out of the issue of fine-onthe-spot notices in the Dublin area are a matter, in the first instance, for the Garda authorities. I suggest the the person concerned should write or call to the Fines Office, Coleraine House, Coleraine Street, Dublin 7, and furnish full details of the incident referred to.
