Vol. 375 No. 1

Written Answers. - Dublin 3 Protective Fencing.

84.

asked the Minister for Finance if the wall at the military cemetery (details supplied) in Dublin 3 will be fenced off, as local residents are persecuted with youth breaking into their homes as a result of easy access through the cemetery.

The Office of Public Works erected limited fencing along certain sections of the cemetery property, including the section in question, to prevent unauthorised entry into the cemetery.

Because of the enormous cost it is not economically feasible to erect fencing around the entire boundary of the cemetery and, in any event, from an aesthetic point of view, fencing on such a scale would be unsightly.
