asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in payment of a farm development grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway, as approved works were completed six months ago.

The grant will be paid as soon as practicable along with other grants certified about the same time. Due to budgetary constraints there are delays in making grant payments.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in payment of cattle headage grants to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

Payment of all grants is being deferred pending the outcome of Garda investigations in this case.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a farm modernisation scheme grant in respect of a cubicle house complex will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Clare.

A claim under the Farm Modernisation Scheme for payment of a grant of £2,620 has been received and will be paid as soon as practicable. All claims under the scheme are dealt with strictly in order of receipt. Due to existing budgetary constraints there may be some delay in making grant payments.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when payment of a farm installation grant will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.

The person mentioned owned land in excess of the maximum allowable area of 0.5 hectares prior to acquiring the lands on which his application under the scheme of installation aid for young farmers was based. Consequently, he is ineligible for payment of an installation premium.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the present position regarding headage payments for a person (details supplied) in County Cavan; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

When the batch which includes his payment is processed the person named will be paid his 1987 calf premium scheme grants on calves which had reached six months of age at date of slaughter even though they were slaughtered under the TB eradication programme before inspection.

He will also be paid 1987 cattle headage and suckler cow schemes grants on animals slaughtered under the TB eradication programmed between the date of application and the date of inspection if, after the question of a possible off-farm income is settled, he is deemed eligible for either or both schemes.

112.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a headage grant in respect of 1986-1987 will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

The person named has been paid his 1986 cattle headage, suckler cow, calf premium and sheep headage schemes grants already but payment of further grants is being deferred pending the receipt of documentary evidence requested from the person named in relation to the full acreage of all lands stated on his applications to be owned or farmed by him.

113.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a ewe subsidy payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The ewe premium will be paid to the person named within the next two weeks when the formalities are completed in respect of his application to be registered as a flockowner.
