The current disease eradication programme runs from April 1987 to March 1988. Some 105,000 herd tests had been carried out under the bovine TB scheme at the end of October and it is expected that about 150,000 tests will have been completed by the end of the year. This rate of progress is well in line with having a full round of testing completed by the end of the programme next March.
