Vol. 375 No. 4

Written Answers. - Ballinora (County Cork) National School.

224.

asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the fact that Ballinora national school in County Cork, which was built in 1974 as a three-teacher school catering for 120 pupils, now has 267 pupils and that these extra pupils are accommodated in four prefabs, the first of which was installed in 1967; that full planning permission was granted three months ago for an extension; that the local contribution has been collected and is available; and if she will give permission for this extension as a matter of urgency.

Because of the pressure on the capital available to my Department for the national schools building programme, it will not be possible to advance any further at the present time the proposed extension project for Ballinora national school, County Cork.
