Vol. 375 No. 4

Written Answers. - Donaghmede (Dublin) School Hall.

236.

asked the Minister for Education if she will make a grant available from the national lottery funds for the purpose of providing a school hall for Scoil Bhride and Holy Trinity School, Donaghmede, Dublin 13, which are without school hall facilities since February 1985 when the present structures were declared a safety and insurance risk; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

My Department will not be operating a school hall building programme in the context of funds to be made available to it from the national lottery. Accordingly, the case raised by the Deputy may not be funded from this particular source.

The Deputy will be aware that a sports and leisure complex which includes a sports hall and a swimming pool has been provided with considerable financial assistance from the State, within a distance of one half-mile from Scoil Bhríde and Holy Trinity School, Donaghmede.
