Vol. 375 No. 6

Written Answers. - Sale of Dublin Buildings.

106.

asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the proposed sale of numbers 41-46 North Great George's Street, Dublin 1; the amount of money which was spent by her Department on maintaining and improving these buildings; if any of the money invested by her Department will be recouped; if, in view of the architectural merit of these listed buildings, she will endeavour to have them retained in public ownership; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I am aware of the proposed sale. No capital funds under the scheme of building grants for voluntary secondary schools were ever paid to this school. These buildings are private propperty which my Department have no interest in acquiring. Their acquisition as listed buildings for public ownership would not be a matter for my Department.
