Vol. 375 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dún Laoghaire Ferry Terminal.

14.

asked the Minister for the Marine if his attention has been drawn to the need for a unified car ferry terminal to be situated in Dún Laoghaire Harbour, County Dublin; and the action if any, he intends taking in the matter.

I am aware that the question of providing a unified car ferry terminal at Dún Laoghaire Harbour was considered by the Commissioners of Public Works at the request of B & I and Sealink in relation to the possibility that both companies would use Dún Laoghaire for cross channel ferry services. When functions in relation to Dún Laoghaire Harbour, at present vested in the Commissioners of Public Works, have been transferred to my Department I will consider the options for the development of car ferry facilities there.
