Written Answers. - Child Day Care Centres.
My Department have not yet received from health boards complete details of day care centres which received assistance in 1986. I am circulating a tabular statement which gives details of the number of day care centres which received financial assistance from health boards in 1985 together with details of the amount of grants paid and the number of children involved. In collecting statistics my Department do not distinguish between different types of day care services. Most of the centres look after children on a part day basis, i.e. two to three hours duration, although there is a small number providing full day care.
