Vol. 376 No. 1

Written Answers - Tuberculosis Cases.

38.

asked the Minister for Health the number of tuberculosis cases diagnosed in the Mid-Western Health Board area for the years 1985, 1986 and 1987; and the treatment which is available from the Mid-Western Health Board for these cases.

The number of tuberculosis cases diagnosed in the Mid-Western Health Board area for 1985 and 1986 were 74 and 84 cases respectively. As returns for this disease are reported to my Department on an annual basis, the figures in respect of 1987 are not yet available and I will send them to the Deputy when they are to hand. Services in the Mid-Western Health Board area for the treatment of tuberculosis are provided through general hospitals.
