Vol. 376 No. 6

Written Answers. - Deerpark (Kerry) Housing Scheme.

117.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position regarding a tender accepted by Kerry County Council for the construction of dwelling houses at Deerpark, Killarney, County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter, having regard to the waiting list for rehousing in the Killarney area.

A tender for a 29 house scheme at Deerpark, which had been recommended by Kerry County Council, is under examination in my Department. As the capital provided in 1987 for the local authority housing construction programme has already been fully allocated it will not be possible to issue sanction in 1987 for this scheme.

I am not in a position, at this stage, to indicate for next year what funds will be made available to individual housing authorities to finance their housing programmes and consequently what schemes may be approved.
