There have been two intakes of temporary clerical trainees into the Civil Service. In the first intake, 1,000 were recruited between November 1985 and April 1986. In the second intake, 801 were recruited between February and October 1987 of whom 699 are at present serving. It is not the intention to recruit temporary clerical trainees in 1988.
