asked the Minister for Justice when work on the new Garda communications network will be completed in the Dublin Metropolitan Area.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 18 and 29 together.
The new Garda Communications Network for the Dublin Metropolitan Area is comprised of two main elements, the radio communications system and the computerised Command and Control system. The radio system is scheduled to come into operation in the spring of next year. Development work is in progress on the computerised Command and Control System which is planned to come into operation in autumn of next year.
