Vol. 376 No. 9

Written Answers. - Howth Harbour, County Dublin.

132.

asked the Minister for the Marine if he will establish a board of trustees to run Howth Harbour, County Dublin incorporating all interested parties who use Howth Harbour.

While the Commissioners of Public Works are the harbour authority for Howth Harbour, arrangements are in train to have the harbour declared a fishery harbour centre. The Minister for the Marine will then be solely responsible for the management, control and operation of the harbour in accordance with section 4 of the Fishery Harbour Centres Act, 1968. There is no provision in the Act for the appointment of a board of trustees to run the harbour.
