Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

186.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in issuing payment of a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford; and when payment of same will issue.

There has been no undue delay; the grant will be paid as soon as possible.

187.

asked the Minister for the Environment when an inspection will be carried out in respect of a new house grant for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

An inspection was carried out recently but the applicant was not available when the inspector called. A further inspection by appointment will be carried out as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in the payment of a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal which application was submitted on 29 October 1986, and about which an undertaking was given in June 1987 that payment would be made shortly; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There is no record of the receipt of an application for a new house grant from the person named at the address given.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will make arrangements for the early payment of grants to the Cloontagh No. 4 group water scheme in County Donegal; and if he will report on the present position regarding this scheme.

Work on this scheme is completed and the full amount of grant has now been paid.

190.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the reduction in the rate of house improvement grant in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare when it can be proved that expenditure and works far in excess of that laid down in specification were undertaken; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The total amount of grants payable will be determined when certain additional information requested from the applicant has been received.

asked the Minister for the Environment when an inspection will be carried out and a new house grant paid in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

An inspection with a view to approval and payment of the grant, will be carried out as soon as possible.

192.

asked the Minister for the Environment when an inspection will be carried out in respect of a new house grant for a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and when payment of same will issue.

A further inspection in this case was carried out recently but a new house grant cannot be allowed as the floor area of the house exceeds the statutory limit.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange payment of a house improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny where the work has been inspected and passed.

The grant will be paid as soon as possible.

194.

asked the Minister for the Environment if an inspection has yet been carried out for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny in respect of a new house grant application; and, if so, when payment of same will issue.

An inspection was carried out recently which revealed that there were some outstanding works to be done on the house. A further inspection with a view to payment of the grant will be arranged when notification is received that these works have been completed.

195.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will reconsider the new house grant application of persons (details supplied) in County Kilkenny in view of the recent documents submitted to his Department which indicated that work commenced on the house in 1986.

A new house grant cannot be allowed as contrary to a condition of the scheme, a registered contractor was not involved in the construction of the house.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in having a £5,000 local authority house surrender grant paid to persons (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and if he will now arrange to have payment made prior to Christmas.

Confirmation that the applicants have complied with the conditions of the scheme has been received from the local authority and the grant will be paid as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cork has not received payment of a house improvement grant to date.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a mortgage subsidy has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork as correspondence was sent to his office on 18 September 1987 but to date no decision has been given.

There is no record of the receipt of an application for mortgage subsidy from the person named at the address given.
