asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when payments of grants will issue to farmers in Counties Cavan and Monaghan where works were not completed by 31 December 1986 under the western drainage package; and if his attention has been drawn to the fact that these works are now generally completed and many farmers are anxiously awaiting payment.

Applicants who have completed approved works under the western drainage scheme should notify the local farm development service. If on inspection the work is found to have been completed to specification payment of grant will be certified in the normal way.
