Written Answers. - Declaration under International Statute.
As regards the Permanent Court of International Justice, on 11 July 1930, a declaration under article 36 of the Statute of the Permanent Court of International Justice was ratified on behalf of the State. The text of that declaration was as follows:
On behalf of the Irish Free State, I declare that I accept as compulsory ipso facto and without special convention the jurisdiction of the court in conformity with article 36 of the Statute of the Permanent Court of International Justice for a period of 20 years and on the sole condition of reciprocity. This declaration is subject to ratification.
As regards the International Court of Justice, no declaration under article 36 (2) of the Statute of the International Court of Justice has been made on behalf of the State.
