Vol. 377 No. 1

Written Answers. - Delays in Court Cases.

115.

asked the Minister for Justice whether, in the light of recent statements regarding procedures in place in the courts causing cases to be struck out because of delays between the date the incident occurred and its legal processing, he has any proposals for change in this area.

I presume the Deputy is referring to summonses issued under the Courts (No. 3) Act, 1986. I am advised that a recent judgment in the High Court on a case stated has clarified the situation and, accordingly, no proposals are required of me.
