Vol. 377 No. 1

Written Answers. - Ballinadee (Cork) National School.

289.

asked the Minister for Education when work will commence on the construction of a new national school for Ballinadee, County Cork.

I would refer the Deputy to the answer which I gave on 3 November 1987 to a question regarding the new national school for Ballinadee, County Cork.

Discussions with the school authorities have been proceeding. The latest communications from them would indicate that they wish to proceed with the original scheme. Capital funding would not be available in the current financial year to finance a project on the scale which the school authorities seek. It follows that I am not in a position to say when work will commence on the construction of a new national school for Ballinadee.
