It was not possible to sanction these schemes in 1987 as they could not be funded within the allocation for local authority housing for that year. I will not be in a position to indicate for 1988 what funds will be made available to individual authorities to finance their programme until the capital claims for 1988, which have been requested from each housing authority, are received and examined in my Department.
