Vol. 377 No. 6

Written Answers - Meath Housing Sanction.

167.

asked the Minister for the Environment when he received for approval the tender for the building of four county council houses in Trim, County Meath; and when he expects to sanction same.

A tender submission for the four house scheme in Trim, the technical aspects of which are generally acceptable, was received in my Department in January 1987. It was not possible to sanction this scheme in 1987 as it could not be funded within the allocation for local authority housing for that year.

Each housing authority has been asked to submit a claim for a capital allocation for its housing construction programme 1988. Pending examination of these claims it is not possible to indicate what funds will be available to individual authorities to finance their programme and consequently when this or any other scheme may be approved.
