Vol. 377 No. 6

Written Answers - Dublin Hospital Allocation.

204.

asked the Minister for Health in view of the reduction of £700,000 in the allocation to the National Maternity Hospital, Holles St., Dublin 2 and in view of the fact that this hospital is facing a deficit of £300,000 for 1988, if he intends to make a further allocation to this hospital for this year.

The 1988 allocations advised to the health agencies reflect the financial benefit of measures taken in 1987 and extra income arising from various services in 1988.

All agencies have been advised that these allocations will only be increased to cover costs arising in respect of the 26th pay round and items specifically provided for in the recent budget.

Officials of my Department are in discussion with the National Maternity Hospital with a view to determining a budget within allocation.
