Vol. 377 No. 6

Written Answers - County Limerick National School.

238.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the proposed new national school at Richill, Lisnagry, County Limerick.

The position is that my Department had agreed in principle to grant-aid the provision of a new eight-classroom national school building at Richill, Lisnagry, County Limerick, to replace the existing range of school buildings which includes some prefabricated classrooms. On cost grounds, having regard to the current difficult financial climate, the scope of the scheme has had to be reviewed. Recent discussions were held with the school authorities on the basis of their retaining the existing permanent classrooms, and providing an extension to replace the prefabricated structures. The architectural planning of the revised scheme has not as yet commenced. I shall inform the Deputy of developments in due course.
