Vol. 377 No. 6

Written Answers - Dublin Vandalism and Petty Crime.

103.

asked the Minister for Justice if his attention has been drawn to the acute problems of vandalism and petty crime in Corduff, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15; the proposals, if any, he has to increase the number of gardaí available for policing in this area; and if he has any other proposals to deal with the problem.

The precise arrangements for policing individual areas are a matter for the Garda authorities who have informed me that the strength assigned to Blanchardstown station, which serves the Corduff area, has recently been increased by six members.

I am also informed that, in addition, two gardaí from Blanchardstown station have been assigned on a full time basis to patrolling duties in the Corduff area. The Garda authorities will review the assignments after six months so that their contribution to improving policing in the area can be assessed.
