Vol. 377 No. 6

Written Answers - Tourism Promotion Allocation.

107.

asked the Minister for Tourism and Transport if he will give details regarding the way in which the £4 million for tourism promotion, referred to in the budget speech, will be spent.

An additional £4 million has been allocated by Government in the 1988 Budget for the purposes of introducing a package of special measures for tourism in 1988.

A special advisory group has been established by the Government to bring forward recommendations as to how best these additional funds can be spent to the betterment of Irish tourism in 1988. On receipt of these recommendations, which are expected shortly, the Government will decide on the content of the tourism package.
