An allocation of £350,000 in 1988 has been made from the national lottery towards the cost of providing a multi-purpose sports centre in Galway city.
My Department have received a number of applications from County Galway seeking grant-aid for projects under the capital grant scheme for the construction of recreational facilities.
All applications are currently being considered within my Department. In the period 1 January to 8 February 1988, the following grant allocations have been provisionally made in County Galway, where confirmation of the grants is subject to full compliance with the terms of the scheme.
