asked the Minister for Health the categories of fatal illness such as heart disease and the number of persons (a) male and (b) female who died in each category in 1987.

Annualised figures on cause of death are not yet available for 1987. However, data relating to deaths registered during the first two quarters of 1987 is contained in the quarterly reports on vital statistics which have been compiled and published by the Central Statistics Office.
