Vol. 377 No. 9

Written Answers. - Military Neutrality.

29.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will outline the Government's policy on military neutrality; and if he will set out the principle on which it is based.

Ireland's policy of military neutrality is premised on our intention not to become involved in hostilities between other States. In peace time this calls for non-membership of military alliances and the State accordingly does not propose to join a military alliance.
