Vol. 377 No. 9

Written Answers. - Sale of Alcohol to Under-Age Persons.

81.

asked the Minister for Justice the number of prosecutions against off-licence and supermarket owners for the sale of alcohol to under age persons in each of the last ten years for which there are records.

Statistics relating to prosecutions against off-licence and supermarket owners for the sale of alcohol to under age persons are not available in the form requested in the question.

However, statistics relating to prosecutions for the offence of supplying or selling drink to persons under 18 years are included in the Garda Commissioner's annual report on crime. Copies of the report for the years up to and including 1986 are available in the Oireachtas Library. The report for 1987 is not yet available.
