asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce in respect of his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 167 of 27 January, 1988, if the figure of £45 million for the value of additional business won by Irish suppliers in 1987 as a result of the linkage programme represents wholly new business so obtained in 1987, that was not obtained at all in 1986, or simply business obtained in 1986 and continued in 1987.

The national linkage team has advised that the additional business estimated at £45 million won by Irish suppliers in 1987 as a result of the national linkage programme consists both of wholly new business obtained in that year, including the incremental value of additional business obtained in 1987 from linkages established prior to that year.
